Hi All!
Just in case you are wanting a puppy update...here you go! :-D
All ten puppies are doing fantastic! Our biggest puppies have gained almost a pound and are about 2 pounds this week. Our littlest runt is 1 lbs 6 ounces...so she has gained almost 9 ounces this week. They are still blind and deaf, but they know how to find their mama by feel and smell. The moment Angel lays down in her box, they immediately start army crawling over to her. Our job as owners is to make sure that Angel is being fed--A LOT. She drinks around a gallon of goat milk a day and a can of wet dog food plus 6 cups of dry food a day plus liver and chicken to keep her appetite up. She's doing amazing and we haven't had to supplement any of the puppies with milk. They are basically attached to her most of the day. She gets up every few hours (around the clock!) to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, and do a quick monitor around the property, then it's back to the box to rest.
Just yesterday, the puppies' noses started changing from pink to black. They are quite noisy! They eat, sleep, and make noise. And sometimes they make noise while they eat. They can't hear each other, but they know if they bark/growl, Angel will hear them and move them over to her teat to nurse. Angel also spends a good amount of time licking them to clean up after them and make them go to the bathroom.
