December 15th

Hi All!

This week we will be changing things up a bit and doing an old-fashioned square dance mixer!  We did this our first year and I personally had a lot of fun, so I will be inflicting my fun on you again!  Adults are ENCOURAGED to join in the activity this week ;-).  This will be for all ages. (Younger kiddos will have adult helpers in their squares).

After learning how to do a bit of square dancing, we will be eating some Christmas cookies. Everyone bring your favorite Christmas cookies to share, and I will provide the drinks-- water and something yummy (unfortunately, not milk--my goats are all dried up in preparation of kidding season in January <3).  Parents, if your child has an allergy, please prepare them in advance to not eat the cookies. We will not be able to address all allergies that might arise. 

This will be so much fun!!!




There WILL be our normal afternoon activities.

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can. Hang out as long as you'd like!

Pinal County Projects

Those who live in Pinal County and are interested in participating in Dairy Goat, Chicken (or other poultry), or Welding are welcome to stick around. If you do not live in Pinal County, but you want to attend either the Dairy Goat or Chicken classes to at least learn about the animals, you are welcome to do that as well, but priority will go to those who can participate in the fair (so must live in Pinal County).

Dairy Goat: Meets right after the activities are over--around noonish. This week we will be discussing Kidding.  I will be combining this into one session with handouts. We will discuss kidding supplies/ birth positions/ and post-natal care. 

Chicken: Meets at 1 pm. 

Welding: Meets at 2 pm in the shop with Elai. This class will last for 1.5 hours. Make sure to wear a cotton long-sleeved shirt and pants (NO POLYESTER),and closed-toed shoes. Those who do not dress appropriately, will not participate.
