March 8th

Hi All!

Are you having a great week??  I sure am!!  We got a new farm animal this week...

...

...

...

Say hello to LOKI!!

Loki is a 4-year-old miniature horse that is the same size as some of my goats! We love him already! However, although he is super friendly, because we JUST got him, he is not quite used to all of the excitement the farm brings, so we will not be getting to hang out with him this week until I've had a chance to work with him a bit. But isn't he super cute????

REMINDER:  Next week, March 15th there will be No Co-op (Go to the Pinal County Fair and watch your friends compete in the Dairy Goat Show instead ;-) )

And now on to this week's schedule!

(Please Note: If your child will be doing a lot of running around and is easily over-heated, please make sure to bring lots of water. The tap water in the shop kitchen is drinkable, but we will not be providing bottled water or cups)

From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing Gardening this week. Come prepared to get dirty and make things grow!!

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. <3

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Garden gloves if you think you need them.

Group B--Ages 9-12

You will be doing the Project this week. My goats are all healthy and the milk is back to excellent standards, so we will be having a goat day--we will get to play with baby goats as well as make a batch of farmer's cheese. We do this project every year, but you all seem to like it ;-).

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and/or wet.

A great attitude!

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be doing P.E. this week.  Not sure what you all will be doing yet--depends how many teens we get!  Come prepared to have fun!

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

And clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in P.E. are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note, you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
