January 30th

Hi All!

Sorry for the delay in getting this out! This time of year is always very busy on the farm as we prepare for kidding season. We WILL be meeting tomorrow! 

However, mark your calendars because next week is a pre-planned appointment we can't miss for the baby, so there will be no co-op NEXT Friday, February 6th.  

This week, Conan is gone at camp with his dad, so no lemonade this week either. He is very disappointed to be missing out on sharing his culinary skills with you all (and he's missing out on dropping eggs from ladders...he may be missing that more than the lemonade ;-) ).  Hopefully our lemons will still be ripe when we get back on the 13th and he can re-open his stand then. 

And, as I've been saying, it is kidding season--my favorite time of the year! So far, no baby goats and I don't anticipate any does going into labor tomorrow. However, for those of you who are newer, if a doe goes into labor on a Friday, all activities are put on hold and there is a "Free Day" for those who come. Those who are capable of sitting quietly in the barn (and I am very strict on the quiet part) may also have the opportunity to observe the goat birth as long as I feel the doe is having a typical birth without complications.  If you think you might want to get a text when a doe goes into labor so you can watch, let me know and I will add you into my text chain. You can read more about that here: Goat Kidding Season is Coming! And now on to the schedule: 

Schedule for Friday, January 30, 2026

From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing P.E. this week. Mr. Asher will be leading P.E. for you this week! I'm sure he has lots of fun activities planned for you! I love it when our young adults volunteer to lead this age group. Such a blessing!

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. 

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen if you so desire.

Water Bottles. (Though the water in the shop kitchen is drinkable, we do not have enough cups to provide water for all of the thirsty kiddos that come to the farm.) 

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Athletic shoes with socks would be a good idea this week.

Group B--Ages 9-12  

You will be doing Project this week. 

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire. 

A willingness to learn

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be doing Gardening this week. 

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire. 

Gardening gloves if you think you want them.

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and/or wet.

A great attitude!

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in the Project are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note, you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can. 

Mark your calendars. There will be NO co-op these days:

February 6th (Baby has an appointment)

March 6th (Baby has a surgery to fix her cleft palate)

April 3rd (Good Friday)

April 17th (My daughter is getting married!!!)

I apologize in advance for taking so many days off, but it really couldn't be helped. We are taking off for all good things though!  Hopefully we won't miss any additional weeks due to weather/illness!
