It has been a BUSY week here on the farm! ALL 13 of our babies were born this week. God was so good to us. First, He ordained that my experienced doe should kid first last Friday (don't worry, it was in the evening so you would have missed it anyway), and she only had twins instead of quads like the vet students' ultrasound said. Then He allowed the next two to both kid, one per day, during the day, each with a set of twins, at hours that made it convenient to put my baby down for naps on Saturday and Sunday. Then Monday, I thought I was only going to have one doe kid at 10:30 am (Elsa), so I almost went out to lunch afterwards. I ended up staying home and decided to put Milky Way in a kidding stall. Right when we would have been at lunch, Milky Way decided to kid. She was kind enough to wait until after I put my baby down for a nap. However, WHILE I was putting the baby down for her nap, another doe that I wasn't expecting to go (Koda) kidded in the pasture--I found them while I was cleaning up the ones in the barn. So, two for the price of one! Three sets of twins, all born on Monday. And finally, our last doe, Esther, kidded this evening--a healthy buck, we named Shawn. Every kidding went textbook perfect. Every kidding happened during daylight hours. All kids and mamas are healthy. Easy peasy this year! God is so good!
BUT...because of all the busyness of this week, not much got done around here. As long as the rain holds off, we will have co-op tomorrow, but it will be a farm free day. If it rains, co-op will be cancelled. We will have some Valentine's Day crafts to do if you are really into doing something crafty, but otherwise it will just be one large playdate. I will take groups out to the pasture to see baby goats, but just a few at a time so as not to overwhelm our new mamas. Please do not bring Valentine's gifts to your friends tomorrow. If you want to share Valentines, please do so outside of the fence and after co-op. I do not want kids who did not get Valentines to feel left out since we are not doing a full co-op Valentine exchange this year.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
Mark your calendars. There will be NO co-op these days:
March 6th (Baby has a surgery to fix her cleft palate)
April 3rd (Good Friday)
April 17th (My daughter is getting married!!!)
I apologize in advance for taking so many days off, but it really couldn't be helped. We are taking off for all good things though! Hopefully we won't miss any additional weeks due to weather/illness!
