Hi All!
We had a big group out on the 15th...Almost 70 kids! It was good fun though! I hope everyone had enough sugar water with some lemon juice :-). We have more lemons to share if you so desire to take some home for your own sugar water.
The sun is out! No rain scheduled until after noon...come on out! :-D
Just a reminder...this is the first week where it is possible (but not probable) that baby goats may arrive during our activity time. If that should happen, the whole schedule below will be thrown out the window. But come anyway...I'll just put Paula in charge and everything will flow smooth as silk! Technically we shouldn't start seeing babies until next week (or even later), but they are on their own time schedule...
Ongoing Requests:
If you have been gifted in the ability to teach larger groups, and would like to, and are not otherwise needed, we could use some help with running Group A PE games. This would not be every week and I would be happy to come up with activities for you if necessary--I just need someone to help facilitate the activities. Let me know if this is something you would like to do. If you can't do this, please pray for someone who LIKES to do this.
Also...we need more balls. If you would like to bring a ball, that would be helpful. All kinds of balls...beach balls, volleyballs, basketballs, whiffle balls... We can incorporate whatever we get into various games.
Here is what is on the agenda for this week:
From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:
Group A-- Ages 5-8
You will be doing Gardening this week. You will be making Chia Pets and going on a scavenger hunt. Please be prepared to get dirty. If you want to wear gardening gloves, please bring your own. If your child has something from the Garden project that they would like to share with everyone, please email a photo to me (along with their first name and age) at: ladyliane@yahoo.com and I will display it on the blog :-).
Materials Needed:
Old Panty Hose or Knee High Stockings
Group B-- Ages 9-12
You will be working through an engineering project. You will work as a team to design and build a simple Rube Goldberg machine. If it's successful, we will video it and post it here. If you have never heard of this, here's a YouTube video of a fun one:
(The one you will do will be MUCH less advanced!)
Materials Needed:
Any of this that you WANT to bring (please remember, if you bring something that you want to take home, you are responsible for watching it and taking it home. Anything left behind will be added to the supplies for future co-op use--in other words, don't bring your favorite toy ;-) ). If you think of anything else that might be fun for this, feel free to improvise. We, of course, have things to use, but for this kind of project, the more options to choose from, the better. So if you don't have any of these handy, come anyway, but if you have things you want to get rid of in a fun way, bring them!
Examples: Marbles, balls (tennis, baseball, bowling, etc.), toy cars, dominoes, skateboard, roller skates
Things That Move:
Examples: Mousetrap, dominoes, toaster, fan
Ramps:
Examples: train tracks, marble runs, books, trays, pvc pipe, plastic tubing, gutters
Recyclables
Examples: Cardboard, Cereal Boxes, Toilet Paper Rolls, Paper Towel Rolls, Plastic Water Bottles, Cans, Aluminum Foil
Random Materials:
Examples: Chopsticks, Popsicle Sticks, Ruler, Wooden Blocks, Bowls, String, Sand, Pins
Group C-- Ages 13-18
You will be doing PE this week. We're aiming for volleyball this week. Or kickball...again. Sunscreen and water bottles are recommended.
Materials Needed:
Tennis shoes and comfortable clothes
Water

Movement Therapy/Stretching with Ms. Paula
After the group activities, Ms. Paula will host a Movement Therapy/Stretching class in the front yard area. Please let Ms. Paula know if you are wanting to do this class. She doesn't want to interfere with anyone's fun by announcing it is happening, but she would love to come get you if you are wanting to stretch with her. All body types/ strength levels are encouraged to attend. Ms. Paula is absolutely AMAZING. She designs her stretches based on the needs of the class, which she can see simply by how you normally move.

Picnic Lunch
Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
