Hi All!
We made it through without rain!!! Yay!! Thank you for all who came today--I, at least, had a blast! We had another large group of 70 this week--even while missing some of our favorite "regulars". Those that normally come and weren't able to make it this week were definitely missed.
Just a reminder...this is the first week where it is possible (and actually quite probable...) that baby goats may arrive during our activity time. If that should happen, the whole schedule below will be thrown out the window. But come anyway...Paula and I have contingency plans just in case!
Should babies come during the week at an inopportune time for our kidding watch list to receive a text, I will post baby pictures on here...because everyone needs to see baby goats! <3
Special Thank YOU!! to Trevor McClees and Denise Morris for stepping in and "officially" helping out with Group A. You two have been extra fantastic and very appreciated!!! (And always a thank you to the McConnells and all my other regular helpers who just pitch in whenever and wherever you are needed...you all are lifesavers!!)
Ongoing Requests:
If you have been gifted in the ability to teach larger groups, and would like to, and are not otherwise needed, we could use some help with running Group A PE games. This would not be every week and I would be happy to come up with activities for you if necessary--I just need someone to help facilitate the activities. Let me know if this is something you would like to do. If you can't do this, please pray for someone who LIKES to do this.
Also...we need more balls. If you would like to bring a ball, that would be helpful. All kinds of balls...beach balls, volleyballs, basketballs, whiffle balls... We can incorporate whatever we get into various games.
Here is what is on the agenda for this week:
From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:
Group A-- Ages 5-8
You will be working on Rube Goldberg machines this week...though on a much smaller scale than group B. Instead of taking up the entire backyard with machines, ours will be a little more contained. Our goal will be simple...to get golf balls into a cup. But I think you can manage it! We will be working off of pegboards. Hopefully you all will have just as much fun as Group B did this week!
Materials that you could bring if you want to:
Tubes of all sorts (TP/Paper towel rolls, larger PVC pipes--must fit a golf ball, etc.)
Empty 2 litter bottles or empty water bottles
Solo cups
Broken fan (for a rotator type tool...if you have one lying around ;-) ).
Any other fun things to attach to a peg board...think large marble run
Group B-- Ages 9-12
You will be doing PE this week. Who knows what's on the agenda! Maybe kickball. Maybe jump rope. Possibly volleyball. Your guess is as good as mine! Sunscreen and water bottles are recommended.
Materials Needed:
Tennis shoes and comfortable clothes
Water
Group C-- Ages 13-18
You will be doing Gardening this week. Please be prepared to get dirty. If you want to wear gardening gloves, please bring your own. Come prepared to learn, since Ms. Paula is a wealth of information!
Please note: Teens are held to a slightly higher standard than the younger kids. If you choose not to participate in the activity of the day, we will "volunteer" you to help with the younger kids. A respectful, pleasant attitude is expected. You have been warned...
Materials Needed:
None

Movement Therapy/Stretching with Ms. Paula
After the group activities, Ms. Paula will host a Movement Therapy/Stretching class in the front yard area. Please let Ms. Paula know if you are wanting to do this class. She doesn't want to interfere with anyone's fun by announcing it is happening, but she would love to come get you if you are wanting to stretch with her. All body types/ strength levels are encouraged to attend. Ms. Paula is absolutely AMAZING. She designs her stretches based on the needs of the class, which she can see simply by how you normally move.

Picnic Lunch
Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
