We had some MORE babies!

Destiny finally had her kids on Saturday, February 6th around 9:45 am. We had done an ultrasound on her back in December and thought we only had twins, but thankfully I didn't leave after the twins were born, since she ended up having triplets--and the third one needed help coming out. Her first two babies came out textbook perfect (there is another video at the bottom for those who are interested). The first baby was a little white buckling that we named Wilbur. The second baby was a little white doeling that we named Destiny's Child (that we are either calling Little D or Chilly depending on who you ask). The third baby was stuck inside and I had to pull his little legs straight in order to get him to come out backwards as his legs were stuck on her pelvic bones. The third baby was a little black and white buck that we have named Triumph. All of the babies and mama Destiny are doing fantastic and they will be out in the pasture on Friday (though we will only be viewing them through the fence).

ALSO

Over the weekend we had two baby calves born (technically they are my father-in-law's cows, but we share them as a family and they live on the property nextdoor). The first was a little Hereford bull (male), born on Saturday, February 6th. The second was a little Angus/Hereford cross heifer (female) that was born this morning (Angus/Hereford crosses are called black baldies). Both calves and moms are doing well.

It was a great weekend!

For those of you who want to see a video of a birth, my son took this one of Wilbur's birth.
He got a little excited at the end, so a lot of that got cut out, but you can at least see what it looks like as the doe is pushing.

Little Bully, born Saturday

Betty, born this morning
