September 30th

Hi All!!!

First, sorry this is a little late getting out--I've been having horrible internet problems lately!

Second, just a reminder there will be no co-op on October 7th.  I'm going to be on a ladies' retreat that weekend <3.

Third, parents, please make sure your kiddos come with a water bottle or something to drink out of if they tend to get overheated. While we do have water, we don't necessarily have enough drinking water/cups for everyone, nor are we able to stop mid-activity to help kiddos who are thirsty. If this is an issue for your child, please come prepared.

Finally, I had so much fun this last Friday shooting off rockets with Group C! If you want a video of your teens' rocket, let me know.  I was also SUPER excited about Group A's Fairy Garden!  It looks AMAZING!!!  Thank you to A&P for donating their discards to this good cause. Between you wonderful Group A'ers and Ms. Paula's green thumb, I'm pretty sure our fairies are going to be quite happy in their new home once the plants bounce back. Here are just a few of the pictures I took of our newest little garden. I LOVE it so much!!!

And now onto the important things...

Schedule for Friday, September 30, 2022

From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing the Project this week. Like Groups B and C, you will be doing a version of a 2-liter bottle rocket. However, because you are a little on the smaller side, your rockets will not involve a bicycle pump as the launch mechanism. We will learn about chemical reactions (safely ;-) ), as well as the basic physics behind the bottle rocket launch. Come prepared for an exciting adventure in physics!

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. <3

Materials Needed:

A plastic bottle of some sort. 2-liter bottles work best, but the amount of pressure we will be using this week does not require a soda bottle necessarily (though it really is the best).

A water bottle to drink out of (if you think you may get thirsty)

Sunscreen...if you so desire.

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Group B--Ages 9-12

You will be doing Gardening this week. Ms. Paula has some vegetables that may be ready to harvest by Friday. She also has the other half of our wildflower garden to plant. She has so many fun plans, but we need to wait and see what is ready by Friday. Come prepared to get dirty and learn a ton!

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

And clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Garden gloves if you think you want them.

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be doing the P.E. this week. Mr. D. thinks that based on the number of teens that have been attending the last couple of weeks that Volleyball will be your game this week. Plans may change if we have a large difference in attendees. Come prepared to have fun!

Materials Needed:

Athletic shoes of some sort

A water bottle--if you think you'll want something to drink (which you will!)

Sunscreen, if you so desire.

A great attitude!

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in P.E. are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note: you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
