December 16th

Hey all!

This is about how I felt about canceling last Friday!  It was muddy though.  And yes, it rained today. However, I have HIGH hopes that we will dry out by this Friday, so I am making plans. Check in on Friday to make sure that we still are having it though (but since we didn't get QUITE so many puddles today, I'm pretty sure we'll be okay).

For clarification, this will be the last Friday co-op of 2022. We will not be meeting on the 23rd or the 30th.

We will be doing things a little differently this Friday because I know that kids will be missing out on their favorite activities and that makes me sad, so this week, the groups will be merged somewhat. See below for details...

Schedule for Friday, December 16, 2022

From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing Gardening/ Project this week with Ms. Paula. You will be doing some Gardening and ALSO making some Christmas Ornaments. Come prepared to get dirty and have fun!  Wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on (though it will hopefully be washable).

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. <3

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

And clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Garden gloves if you think you want them.

Group B--Ages 9-12

You will be able to choose between P.E. and Gardening this week.

If you choose to do P.E., it will be with Mr. D and the teenagers, so you will probably be doing kickball again... Mr. D really likes kickball! You will be out in the pasture where there isn't a lot of shade. It also might be a little muddy still (hopefully not!) Sunscreen and water bottles and shoes that can get dirty are recommended.

If you choose to do Gardening, you will be with Ms. Paula. The ornaments she will be making will be different than the ones we made in Project a couple of weeks ago. If you choose to do Gardening, we will expect you to take leadership roles with the younger kiddos. Show by example how to follow instructions and be big helpers. Depending on how many of you choose to do Gardening, we may have you group up with 4 or 5 littler ones to help them with their ornaments as well. Know ahead of time that this may be a possibility.

Materials Needed:

Tennis shoes and comfortable clothes

Water bottles

Sunscreen if you so desire

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be able to choose between P.E. and Project this week.

If you choose to do P.E., you will most likely be doing kickball in the pasture with Mr. D. and those Group Bers that choose to do P.E. You will be out in the pasture where there isn't a lot of shade. It also might be a little muddy still (hopefully not!) Sunscreen and water bottles and shoes that can get dirty are recommended.

If you choose to do the Project, we will be working on the same wooden Christmas Ornaments that Group B did a few weeks ago. You will be doing some drilling, some woodburning and, if we have time, some varnishing.  Come with an idea of what you might want on your ornament!

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

A great attitude!

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in the Project or P.E. are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note: you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
