September 22nd

Hi All!

It's almost time to meet up again! I'm super excited to see all of you again and to meet all the new people that have been messaging me this summer! 

For those who are new here, WELCOME! Also, you may want to take a second and check out a couple of the tabs at the top of the page that explain who we are and what we do, as well as our Code of Conduct rules (which we take VERY seriously). 

For those who missed my post about the Pinal County Fair Projects, we still have a few more spots open. If you didn't get a chance to sign up and just want to check things out for the first week, feel free to stick around after lunch, where we will repeat everything for everyone before we start our first sessions. This is the first time we are doing this, so it will be a learning experience for us all!

(And for those who do not want to participate in the fair project classes, you can still stick around and just enjoy being outdoors with friends after the activities are over, watching the project classes from afar if you want ;-) )

And now on to this week's schedule! 

 From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing Gardening this week. Ms. Paula has lots of fun activities scheduled for starting the year off right. Come prepared to learn a lot and get dirty!!

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. <3

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire. 

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Garden gloves if you think you want them.

Group B--Ages 9-12

You will be doing the Project this week. We will be learning about strategy (and a little TINY bit about Alexander the Great) in a live-action game of Risk--involving squirt guns, water shooters and water sponges.  Come prepared to get wet--at least a little bit. (P.S. I had SOOOO much fun modifying the rules for this!  I hope you all have a ton of fun playing it!)

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire. 

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and/or wet.

Good teamwork skills!

A great attitude!

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be doing P.E. this week. Come prepared to run and have fun in the pasture.

Materials Needed: 

Tennis shoes and comfortable clothes 

Water bottles

Sunscreen if you so desire 

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in P.E. are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note: you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.

Pinal County Projects

After lunch, those who live in Pinal County and are interested in participating in Dairy Goat, Chicken (or other poultry), or Welding are welcome to stick around. If you do not live in Pinal County, but you want to attend either the Dairy Goat or Chicken classes to at least learn about the animals, you are welcome to do that as well, but priority will go to those who can participate in the fair (so must live in Pinal County). Unfortunately, the Welding class is not a drop-in class and is for those in Pinal County only.
