September 27th

Hi All!

That was a great first week back!  Thank you for those who came!

This week I will not be here--I am heading to Iowa for my parent's 50th Anniversary Celebration 💓...  However, there WILL still be co-op. We will just have our volunteers helping out (so be KIND!). This is a first for me...to host co-op and not be there.  Hopefully it all works out well!

Here are the well-thought-out plans as they now sit.

From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing P.E. this week. Ariana and Samuel will be organizing the games this week.  (Crazy that my two middle children are old enough to be camp counselors now. What a crazy time of life for me!  Where did the time go?????  Watch this video if you want to cry right along with me: Slow Down by Nicole Nordeman ). The kids will be in the pasture. It will be hot. There may or may not be shade (I'm thinking I might be able to put up a sunshade, possibly, but I'm not quite sure if it will work or not before Friday).  Bring water if you get thirsty!!

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. <3

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen if you so desire.

Water Bottles. (We do not have enough cups to provide water for all of the thirsty kiddos that come to the farm.)

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Group B--Ages 9-12

You will be doing Gardening this week. Ms. Paula has a lot of fun ideas as always, so come help and learn all sorts of fun new gardening tips!  Start saving your 2-Liter soda bottles. NEXT Friday, October 4th, you will be doing rockets. Water bottles will not be strong enough to withstand the pressure, so if you don't drink soda, ask your neighbors 😉.

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

Gardening gloves if you think you want them.

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and/or wet.

A great attitude!

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be doing Project this week. We will be continuing on with the rocket theme, with Mr. D. as your teacher. We will be doing something a little different with your group. The plan is for you to make/paint actual model rockets this week that we will launch as a group next week (October 4th, during PE).  This project is costing us a little extra, so we are asking each teen to bring a $10 donation for their rocket (that you will get to take home with you after next week).  If you cannot afford to donate towards a rocket, please still come. We do not want to exclude anyone because of cost. We will be buying 24 rockets. If more than 24 teens come, we can share on Friday, and I will pass along a link to quickly get one for you to make one at home so you can shoot it off with us on October 4th.

Please Note: If you know that you will not be able to come two weeks in a row, please allow first preference for rockets to go to the kids who will be here both weeks, but still come either way. The idea is to work together and enjoy each other's company.

Materials Needed:

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire.

And clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in the Project are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note, you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.

Attendance Last Week (at least attendance from those who signed in 😉 ):
