We made it through our first Friday Homeschool Day! WOW! That was exhausting...and fun! We will be making some modifications going forward, but overall it went well. So...now on to next week!
Please note the age adjustments down below...
First, if you want to know more about what we are doing, please click on the link to the page entitled: "What is Homeschool Days?"
Also, if you have not yet read our farm Code of Conduct, please do so before coming. You will also need to sign a one-time Waiver (because that's just the world we live in). A copy of the Code of Conduct as well as the Waiver will be on site for those who need it.
Here is what is on the agenda for next week:
From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:
Group A-- Ages 5-8
You will be doing Gardening/Crafts this week. Mrs. Wood will be helping half of the kids with their journal and a small craft (and then they will switch with Paula). Ms. Paula will be leading you on an introductory tour of our gardens and introducing you to gardening basics. You will hopefully be making some flower bombs for our wildflower garden as well as a few to take home. Please be prepared to get dirty. If you want to wear gardening gloves, please bring your own.
Materials Needed:
Journal or a Sketch Pad (or both)
We will have some crayons/markers, but you should bring your own pen/pencil also.
Group B-- Ages 9-12
You will be working on 2-Liter Bottle Water Rockets this week. This will be similar and yet different from what the teens did last week. Hopefully just as fun! (If you are 13 and missed doing this last week, you can join Group B this week...we don't want anyone to miss the water bottle rockets if they want to do them.)Materials Needed:
Empty, Clean 2-liter bottle (if you want to bring more than one, that is fine...I'm sure they will be used)
Group C-- Ages 13-18
You will be participating in PE this week. Please wear tennis shoes and clothes you can move in. We will be playing a game called Sneak. You teenagers will get to direct this a little more in the future. Do you want more structure? Do you want free play? Do you want a little of both? Do you want to split into boys and girls? You make the call (to an extent at least 😉 )... we'll listen. We'll discuss this week and make appropriate changes going forward.
Materials Needed:
None

Movement Therapy/Stretching with Paula
After the group activities, Paula will host a Movement Therapy/Stretching class in the front yard area. This class is free, however, tips/donations/thank you notes are welcome.

Picnic Lunch
Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
