October 15th

Hi All!

I am impressed...no one showed up last week! I was worried! :-D

I had a great time at my ladies' retreat, but I am super excited to get back to having fun with everyone! And Friday is going to be another BEAUTIFUL day at the farm.

We have a small farm update:

Angel got her ultrasound done last Wednesday and we now know that we will have a minimum of NINE puppies!!  Chances are good we will have more than nine puppies, however, Angel decided that for once in her life she would not roll over onto her back (or allow her belly to be shaved), so my very patient sonographer followed her around with the ultrasound wand and did the imaging on the move. I'm super impressed that she was able to count 9 and even get some measurements. We were given an approximate due date of November 4th (which was what we were guessing as well).

Here is a video of one of the images she recorded during her session:

Because she is further along in her pregnancy and she's been extra tired and stealing food more than usual, I'm going to ATTEMPT to keep Angel in the house on Fridays until after the puppies are born. I say attempt because, although she has no problems being in the house for a little bit while we are also in there, she doesn't particularly enjoy staying in the house when we are not in there. She may break out. We'll see. If she does break out, please remind your children not to climb on her at this time. I don't want to risk hurting the puppies.

And now onto the fun...

Here is what is on the agenda for this week:

Schedule for Friday, October 15, 2021

From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing Gardening this week. Ms. Paula will be doing another fun relay as well as letting you guys plant seeds. So much fun to have! Please be prepared to get dirty. Don't wear your favorite shoes to the farm (probably not ever, but definitely not on garden days ;-) ). If you want to wear gardening gloves, please bring your own.

Materials Needed: A willingness to get dirty and a smile!

Group B-- Ages 9-12

You will be doing a Project this week. We will be learning about the physics behind xylophones and creating some musical garden art for the wildflower garden. Come prepared to build and work together as a team!

Materials Needed: Nothing

Group C-- Ages 13-18

You will be doing PE this week. Maybe kickball again... MAYBE 9 Square in the Air.  Sunscreen and water bottles are recommended.

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.

Movement Therapy/Stretching with Ms. Paula

After the group activities, Ms. Paula will host a Movement Therapy/Stretching class in the front yard area. Please let Ms. Paula know if you are wanting to do this class. She doesn't want to interfere with anyone's fun by announcing it is happening, but she would love to come get you if you are wanting to stretch with her. All body types/ strength levels are encouraged to attend. Ms. Paula is absolutely AMAZING. She designs her stretches based on the needs of the class, which she can see simply by how you normally move.
