April 14th

Hi All!

I hope you had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday/ Easter!  We had a lovely day!  Sorry it took me so long to get this week's blog up. We've had a very busy week and I actually forgot what day it was!  I am so excited to see all of you tomorrow...it is going to be a BEAUTIFUL day!!

For farm news: bad news...the emu eggs did not hatch. They should have hatched by April 8th.  We are keeping them in the incubator for another week "just in case," but we don't think we'll get any baby emus. Apparently, Margie couldn't overcome her dislike for Kevin long enough to make fertile eggs! 

BUT we have a TON of cute little baby cochins!  They are absolutely adorable!!  

(And if you have been dying to add this friendly breed to your flock, feel free to chat with Ariana about it, as she is selling most of this newest batch...)

And now onto this week's schedule! 

 From 10-Noon(ish) we will break into group activities:

Group A-- Ages 5-8

You will be doing Gardening this week. Ms. Paula has lots of fun activities scheduled. Come prepared to learn a lot and get dirty!!

Parents, if your little ones tend to wander, please stay close by. You are responsible for taking your child to the restroom or providing them with water if they get thirsty. Try to remind them that this is a group activity, and they should try to stick with their group as much as possible. That will really help keep things flowing smoothly for everyone. <3

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire. 

And clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Garden gloves if you think you want them.

Group B--Ages 9-12

You will be doing the Project this week. We will be working on Rube Goldberg machines.  I always love watching how creative you Group B-ers can be! 

Materials Needed: 

Sunscreen and Water Bottles...if you so desire. 

Clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Good teamwork skills!

A great attitude!

Group C--Ages 13-18

You will be doing P.E. this week. Come prepared to run and have fun in the pasture.

Materials Needed: 

Tennis shoes and comfortable clothes 

Water bottles

Sunscreen if you so desire 

Those teenagers that do not feel like participating in the Project are welcome to volunteer with Group A. Please note: you WILL be put to work if you volunteer in that capacity!

Picnic Lunch

Everyone is welcome to stay and have a picnic lunch in the backyard area. You are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Please do not feed any animals with that lunch and please make sure all garbage is disposed of in the dumpster or garbage can.
